Daihatsu has revealed the “me: MO” electric transformer car of the future

Daihatsu Motor 2023 unveiled «me: MO», a modular mini battery electric vehicle (BEV).
The modular design of such a vehicle allows the physical configuration to change, contributing to eco-friendliness and potential lifespan. The owner of the car can 3D-print and replace not only interior parts, but also body parts.
The car’s modular design allows for physical reconfiguration, contributing to environmental friendliness and potential lifespan.
The automaker says the concept behind «me: MO» is that it changes with the owner, and offers different functions needed at each stage of a person’s life. To that end, the electric car features interchangeable body and interior parts, as well as the ability to configure the platform for single or family use.
An electric car that is designed to be used as a single or family vehicle.
Besides convenience, the new philosophy aims to be environmentally friendly and allows for less frequent car changes. For example, if a person has a family, they don’t need to buy a big car – it’s enough to “convert” the body of the “me: MO” from a pickup to a minivan. The car has only been shown as a concept at the Japan Mobility Show 2023.
The production version’s release date and price have yet to be announced.
