According to earlier reports from the same source, Sony’s new sensor will be equivalent in performance to the Sony IMX989, which is a Type 1″ sensor. Its smaller size will be compensated for by a dual-layer design, which will improve sensitivity.

The new sensor will feature OIS and will benefit from Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 computing capabilities. In addition, the 64MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom is expected to perform even better in low-light conditions, again thanks to Qualcomm’s new chipset.
