The new Smart #6 hybrid sedan has been unveiled
Smart, once known for its tiny two-seat cars, has finally stopped playing in the minicar segment. Each new model is noticeably larger than the previous one — and Smart’s #6 EHD hybrid sedan is no exception. The model is revealed thanks to a publication in the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Technology (MIIT) database and is clearly aimed at the fast-growing electrified family sedan segment.
For a brand that once made cars that took up half a parking space, the Smart #6 EHD looks like a true «party convertible». The body length is —4.9 meters, width —1.92 meters, height —1.51 meters. The wheelbase reaches a solid 2.92 m — this promises a spacious and comfortable interior.

Externally, the novelty looks modern and expressive. At the front — a continuous light line across the entire width of the body and minimalist air intakes. Hidden door handles, multi-spoke wheels and clean lines create a premium impression. At the rear — a wide light line, a solid look and a slightly concave trunk lid that adds depth to the design.

Smart #6 EHD — the company’s first sedan, but not its first hybrid. The powertrain — Geely’s proprietary NordThor Hybrid 2.0 hybrid system: a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with an electric motor produces a combined 320 kW (429 hp). The same hybrid is used in the brand’s first plug-in model — the Smart #5 EHD.
The EV part is based on — an LFP battery from SVOLT or CATL. It’s claimed to take less than 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, but the battery capacity hasn’t been disclosed yet. Vehicle weight depends on the version: base — 1,990 kilograms, top-of-the-line — 2,099 kilograms.

Smart says electric-only range — 285 kilometers, and combined — up to 1,810 kilometers on the optimistic Chinese CLTC cycle. The gearbox — is a three-speed DHT, with claimed fuel consumption — less than 4 liters per 100 km.

The roof is fitted with a LiDAR unit — this hints at advanced driver assistance systems and possibly more autonomy. Options include — several headlight and taillight options, caliper coloring, and a choice of 19- or 20-inch wheels.
The Smart #6 EHD is expected to premiere early next year. In doing so, it will join the brand’s existing electric vehicles — Smart #1, #3 and #5. The arrival of a large family sedan shows that Smart has long since transcended its niche and is ready to compete with leading automakers.
