Samsung has launched a wireless keyboard with a separate key to trigger AI

Samsung has unveiled a new wireless Smart Keyboard designed for Galaxy devices. It works via Bluetooth and fits Galaxy Book smartphones, tablets and laptops. The keyboard has a compact format with no number pad and a minimalist design, but the main difference is &#8212a separate key for calling AI services.

The key, called AI Short Key, sits next to the arrows and is used to quickly launch Google Gemini or Bixby on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. If the keyboard is connected to a Galaxy Book, it brings up Copilot. This functionality was first introduced in keyboard cases for the Galaxy Tab S10 series, and is now available as a standalone accessory.

Smart Keyboard supports simultaneous pairing with up to three devices, which can be switched between using a dedicated button. In addition, there are three customizable keys for quickly launching apps — Samsung cites Notes, Calendar and PenUP as examples. There’s also a separate button for launching DeX mode.

Interestingly, the keyboard doesn’t have a built-in battery. Instead, it runs on a CR2032 battery. Samsung promises «long-lasting» battery life, though it doesn’t give exact figures. It comes with a single battery, as well as an extraction needle, which hints at the need to use it to replace the battery.

The keyboard is already available in a number of regions and is aimed at users looking for a lightweight, versatile and convenient keyboard for Galaxy devices.
