Casio has updated the compact G-Shock line with two models with a metal bezel and a new dial design

Casio has quietly updated its compact G-Shock lineup, introducing two models with a more concise and industrial design. The GM-S2110-1A1 and GM-S2110-1A7 retain the traditional ruggedness of the series, but feature a metal bezel and an expressive dial that looks more interesting in person than in photos.
The two models feature an octagonal stainless steel bezel, which immediately makes the look more austere and premium compared to the plain plastic versions. The main accent, however, is the dial. Casio uses a subtle cross-hatching pattern that delicately reflects light and gives the impression of a metallic surface, even though the dial itself is not metallic. It’s a small detail, but it makes the watch look visually more expensive.
The differences between the models mostly come down to the colors. The GM-S2110-1A1 has a stealthy style: a black dial and negative display with a dark background. The GM-S2110-1A7 offers a silver dial and positive display, which should be a bit easier to read. Both versions come with black rubber straps, which reduces weight and improves comfort. The dimensions are 45.9 × 40.5 × 11.0 mm and weigh just 56g, making the models one of the most comfortable G-Shock models with metal elements – compact enough for small wrists, but still recognizably G-Shock.

Functionality is standard here, with world time for 31 zones, a 1/100th-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five alarms, and a signature shock-resistant design. There’s also a hand shift function to free up the screen when you need to look at numerical data – a useful little thing you only think about when you really need it.
In Japan, both models are priced at ¥29,150 (about $188). The watches have also appeared on Casio’s international website, which usually indicates a global release is imminent.
