XMG launched CORE 15 and 16 gaming laptops with RTX 5070 graphics card

The XMG brand has unveiled a pair of new gaming laptops: the 15.3-inch CORE 15 and the 16-inch CORE 16. Both models are positioned as portable solutions with powerful hardware, suitable for both gaming and demanding multimedia tasks.
The two devices have IPS screens with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, refresh rates up to 300Hz and peak brightness of 500 nits. The slight difference is the color gamut: the CORE 15 covers 100% sRGB, while the CORE 16 covers 100% P3.

Computing power is provided by a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor working in tandem with a discrete GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card (TDP 115W). There’s a proprietary utility for adjusting GPU power consumption, activating Dynamic Boost, and customizing cooler speeds.
The cooling system on the new notebooks is designed to keep hot air from burning the user’s hand, with heat dissipation holes at the back. The XMG CORE 15 has two 70mm fans, while the CORE 16 has one 70mm and one 84mm fan. The manufacturer also emphasizes the use of Honeywell PTM-7958 thermal pads.

Supported RAM capacity goes up to 128GB (DDR5) and maximum storage capacity is 16TB. Communication options include HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort 2.1, USB 4 (140W), USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, three USB Type-A, Gigabit Ethernet, audio jack, memory card slot, and Wi-Fi module.
The laptops are powered by a 99.8Wh battery that provides up to 8 hours of battery life for watching videos or performing simple office tasks. The base XMG CORE 15 (16GB RAM and 1TB SSD) costs €1,549 ($145,680) in Europe, while the XMG CORE 16 with the same amount of memory costs €1,579 ($148,500).
