Ayaneo unveiled Pocket DS, an Android console with two screens and a Snapdragon

Ayaneo is expanding its handheld lineup and launching a new Pocket DS console. It features a dual-screen fold-out form factor and is aimed at both modern gamers and retro gaming enthusiasts.
Ayaneo has unveiled the Pocket DS, a dual-screen Android console with Snapdragon 2.
Design and hardware platform
The Pocket DS looks reminiscent of the dual-display handheld console era, but is equipped with modern hardware. The device is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 platform, which is also used in the Pocket S and Pocket EVO models.
The base version offers 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The top-end configuration goes up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of onboard storage. The console runs Android with proprietary AYASpace and AYAHome software, as well as the upcoming “DS Launcher,” which optimizes multitasking and dual-display experience.

Two screens and new features
The main screen is a 7-inch OLED with 1080p resolution, refresh rate up to 165Hz, 800 nits brightness and HDR support. The second display is a 5-inch IPS with 1024 × 768 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio, making it handy for emulating the Nintendo DS and 3DS.
The two panels support fast switching modes, gestures to move content around, and a “Focus Lock” feature that lets you control screen-specific input. The clamshell case is made with a metal lid, and the hinge opens 180 degrees.
Autonomy and cooling
Pocket DS got an 8000mAh battery with PD fast charging support. The cooling utilizes a turbo fan and copper plate to ensure stable performance under load.
Management and connectivity
The console features Hall-effect triggers, TMR joysticks, ABXY buttons, two X-axis linear motors, and stereo speakers. Connections include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, and a microSD slot.
