One UI 8 reveals the secrets of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold processor

Samsung was expected to unveil its first tri-fold smartphone at the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, but that didn’t happen. However, the company has confirmed plans to release the device before the end of the year. Now, credible details about the processor of the upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold have emerged.

It was previously rumored that the smartphone will use a chip from Qualcomm. Android Authority publication has examined the internal beta of the One UI 8 and discovered a line of code: siop_q7mq_sm8750. It is known that Q7M is the internal codename of the Galaxy Z TriFold, while SM8750 corresponds to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

So it’s safe to say that the Galaxy Z TriFold will be powered by the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chip, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device will likely ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16 and will get seven years of Android updates and security patches.
