Apple Vision Pro update: what to expect

Apple is reportedly preparing a minor update for its Vision Pro headset, which will become available «as early as this year». While it won’t be a major update, it will feature a new M4 chipset, which is quite different from the M2 used in the original Vision Pro. It’ll also get more cores for its neural engine.
The new headset will come with a new strap that will make it more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time, reducing strain on the neck. It won’t reduce the weight of the device, but it will be easier to wear for longer periods of time.

It won’t happen until 2027 with the redesigned Vision Pro. Until then, the model coming this year is intended as a temporary measure to keep Apple relevant in the AR headset market, despite its high price.
So far, Apple has only sold a few hundred thousand Vision Pro units, a negligible number for a device that was supposed to be the future of computing.
