Rumor: Galaxy S24 Ultra will get a flat screen

Leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have so far been expected — camera upgrades, design changes, faster charging, etc. But the latest report is surprising. According to reliable whistleblower Ice Universe, the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a flat display instead of a curved one.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a flat display instead of a curved one.
Samsung was the first to introduce a curved screen design in 2014 with the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, and later switched the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 lineup to curved glass. Since then, the company has returned to flat screens for the younger members of its flagship lineup, and now it may switch to them for its premium smartphone lineup as well.
Samsung’s first curved screen design is curved glass.

Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be 79mm wide, which can only be explained by the move to a flat screen. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is 78.1mm wide thanks to its curved edges, and it’s highly unlikely that the bezels will increase.

That said, we wouldn’t take anything for granted just yet. Samsung could simply be using a larger screen, which would explain this discrepancy.
