The new Galaxy Z Fold 7 will disappoint fans with its battery life

Samsung’s new foldable smartphones – Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 – are getting closer to release. This time the leaks have been confirmed by UL Demko certification, where the exact battery specifications of both devices have been revealed. And while the Flip 7 will get a noticeable boost, the Fold 7 will once again remain without a battery upgrade.
Flip 7 will get more capacity than before
According to the certification, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is equipped with two battery packs numbered EB-BF766ABE (1,189 mAh) and EB-BF767ABE (2,985 mAh). The combined minimum capacity is 4,174 mAh, while the marketing value will likely be dubbed as 4,300 mAh. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 had 4,000 mAh – the raise will be around 300 mAh.

This is good news for users, especially considering the increasing external display, which is now rumored to reach 4 inches.
Fold 7 again no battery boost
The Galaxy Z Fold 7, meanwhile, will once again get a 4,272mAh dual battery with EB-BF966ABE (2,126mAh) and EB-BF967ABE (2,146mAh) cells, according to the same reports. This fully replicates the Fold 6’s specs, and will likely be listed as 4,400 mAh.

With rumors of a larger display in the new version of the Fold, the lack of a larger battery raises questions. Specifically – will the new chipset and display be able to compensate for potentially increasing power consumption?”
Charging is also unchanged
Besides battery capacity, charging speeds have also been confirmed: 25W wired and 15W wireless, just like the previous generation. This is already drawing criticism from users who were expecting a move to more modern charging standards.
Features: camera, thickness, display
Despite its conservative approach to the battery, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have something to attract attention. According to the leaks, it will get:
- a 200MP main camera
- slimmer body
- and larger screen area.
The Flip 7 won’t be left behind either: its exterior display will be even larger, while internal changes may affect the cooling system and the layout of internal elements.
When to expect the presentation
According to reports, both devices have already entered mass production, and the official presentation Samsung Unpacked is expected in early July 2025.
Oppo, Honor, Motorola and possibly Huawei are expected to show off their new models in the same period – competition in the foldable smartphone segment will be hot. That said, Apple is reportedly planning to release its first foldable iPhone in 2026 at the earliest, so Samsung has a chance to once again set the tone for the category.
