Mass recall of Lada Vesta and Largus: what owners need to know

AvtoVAZ has announced a large-scale recall campaign affecting tens of thousands of cars amid model lineup updates. According to Rosstandart, more than 47,000 Lada Vesta and Lada Largus cars manufactured and sold between October 2021 and August 2023 will be recalled from the market. The reason is the lack of the Emergency Call System (ECS) unit.

The problem is the lack of an emergency call control unit

According to the agency, the recall involves 22,731 copies of Lada Vesta and 24,408 Lada Largus cars. These vehicles did not have the control module for the system designed to automatically call emergency services in emergency situations installed from the factory.

AvtoVAZ will install the necessary unit free of charge on all recalled vehicles, thus restoring the functionality of the SVEOS system, which is mandatory for most new cars on the Russian market.

How to find out if your car is subject to a recall

AvtoVAZ representatives and dealerships will begin notifying owners of cars subject to the recall. However, car owners can independently check their car’s participation in the campaign using VIN-code. To do this, you need to visit the official website of Rosstandart, where a list of cars covered by the program is available.
