Realme has officially confirmed that its new GT 7 flagship will feature a 7200 mAh battery – one of the most capacious figures among all premium smartphones in 2024. The device will not only surprise with its power, but also with its thickness: despite the larger battery, the smartphone will remain thin and light.

Realme GT 7 will surprise with its combination of power and compactness

The Realme GT 7 is scheduled to be announced on April 23 in China, and one of the main highlights will be the battery. Unlike the GT 6 with a 5500 mAh battery and 8.6mm thickness, the new GT 7 will have a 7200 mAh battery with a thickness of only 8.25mm and a weight of 203 grams. In addition, the smartphone will support 100W fast charging – this will minimize downtime even with such an impressive capacity.

New thermal design and innovative materials

Besides the record-breaking battery, Realme is introducing a new cooling design to the GT 7, which the company calls an industry first. The smartphone will get a back panel made of a hybrid material, a “graphene fiberglass alloy.” The brand claims the material has a thermal conductivity six times greater than standard glass.

Although the effectiveness of this technology has yet to be tested in practice, especially in gaming scenarios, the approach itself shows Realme’s commitment to offering more than just “lots of power.”

Display features and extra protection

According to leaks, the Realme GT 7 will feature a 144Hz refresh rate flat screen manufactured by BOE. The device will get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display and minimal bezels around the perimeter of the screen. It’s also expected to have IP69 water and dust resistance, which is one of the highest sealing classes on the market.

But the body will be made using a plastic mid-frame – unlike many other flagships that rely on metal.

MediaTek’s latest processor and possible price

The device is powered by MediaTek’s latest 3nm Dimensity 9400+ chipset, which could also appear in future rival flagships like the Redmi K80 Ultra and OnePlus Ace 5s Pro. It’s a major step up from last year’s GT 6, which was powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, positioned as a sub-flagship solution.
