Samsung has officially confirmed that the update will be rolling out from April 2025
When to expect the One UI 7.0 update
The Galaxy S24 series flagships will get the new version first, and then the update will be available for older flagships and some mid-range models
Samsung is currently actively testing beta versions for devices such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy A55. The company has released three beta versions of One UI 7.0 in recent months, with several more updates expected before a stable release.
Why the One UI 7.0 release is delayed
Samsung claims that the shell is rewritten from scratch, which is one of the main reasons for the delay in a stable release. Another factor is the introduction of AI features that require cloud-based processing.
It’s not yet known which specific AI features will appear on older models of the S and Z series, but Samsung is working to expand AI support to more devices.
What’s new in One UI 7.0
The update brings a global redesign of the interface, including:
- Updated Quick Panel with simplified access to settings
- Revamped animations and transitions that will be smoother
- Now Bar – bar with current activities
- New Icon Design
The camera will also get a redesigned interface adapted for one-handed operation. Additionally, there will be a new battery icon and updated charging animations
When the update will be released
Samsung will continue to release additional beta versions ahead of the release of the stable One UI 7.0. Galaxy S24 owners will get the update first, and then it will be available for other models.
