Xiaomi 15 Ultra: New details ahead of the official announcement

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its new flagship 15 Ultra smartphone later this month. Another snapshot of the device hit the web the other day, confirming earlier design leaks.

Another image of the device has surfaced online.

Leica-inspired design and camera array

The smartphone’s back panel is made of one-quarter metal and three-quarters leather, reminiscent of the classic Leica camera design. However, the camera arrangement looks less aesthetically pleasing than expected.

The back of the device houses four cameras lined up in two rows. The top row houses the 200-megapixel sensor and periscopic lens, which really need that much space. The second row houses the main camera with a 1-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel short telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and run on Android 15 with proprietary HyperOS 2 shell.

Battery capacity is expected to rise to 6,000 mAh and support for fast wired charging will remain at 90W.

Launch date and international premiere

The official launch of the smartphone in China is expected to take place in late February. After that, a global announcement is expected at MWC 2025 in Barcelona.
