Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release in the fall of 2025
Take-Two has confirmed that the release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 remains set for fall 2025. The publisher revealed this information in its second quarter financial results report, emphasizing that the game’s launch time window has not changed.
At the same time, Take-Two has confirmed that the game will be released in the fall of 2025.
The first GTA 6 trailer was released in December 2023, confirming a 2025 release. In two days, the trailer racked up more than 100 million views, breaking the record for the debut GTA 5 trailer and becoming one of the most viewed game trailers in YouTube history.
The trailer is the most watched in YouTube history.
In May, Take-Two refined its financial forecast, narrowing the game’s release window to next fall. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke to CNBC about the process of deciding on a release date, emphasizing the importance of not only technical readiness but also the uniqueness of the game experience.

“There are many parameters that can be measured, such as the number of bugs, and we always try to minimize them before launch. However, when it comes to a unique game with high expectations, it’s not only that that matters. Rockstar Games strives for excellence, and that’s hard to measure objectively – it’s more like subjective.”
Given Rockstar’s history with delayed releases, Zelnick was asked how confident he is in meeting the fall 2025 deadline. He noted:
“Delays are possible in any industry, and we are no exception. However, we have clarified the deadlines because we are confident that we will meet them.”
Fans can thus expect the next installment in the acclaimed series to be released in 2025, though the final release date will depend on the studio’s willingness to provide players with a quality product.
