Samsung W25 foldable phone with Gold Armored aluminum frame unveiled

Samsung has announced a new W series of foldable smartphones exclusively for the Chinese market. The Samsung W25 shares many similarities with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but comes with a number of improvements and a unique design.

Main features of Samsung W25:

• Design: Externally, the W25 resembles the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but has a more refined style. The case is made of black ceramic, adorned with the “Heart to the World” logo and is framed in a golden bronze aluminum frame. The device is also 1.5mm thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, with a thickness of 10.6mm when folded.
• Display: The device’s main screen is an 8-inch display with QXGA+ resolution (2184 x 1968 pixels), 120Hz support, HDR10+ and brightness up to 2600 nits. The outer screen is 6.5 inches (HD+), also with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 2600 nits, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

• Performance: The W25 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor under the hood, along with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage, making it one of the most powerful foldable smartphones on the market.
• Cameras: Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the W25’s main camera gets a 200MP sensor, complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle and 10MP telephoto lens. The external selfie camera is 10 MP, while the sub-screen camera is 4 MP.

• Battery and charging: The 4,400mAh battery supports 25W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
• Additional features: The device features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP48 certification (water and dust resistance), stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1.1 shell.

Cost and availability:

Samsung W25 is available for the Chinese market with prices starting at 15,999 yuan (about $2,229 USD) for the version with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The model with 1TB of storage costs 17,999 yuan (about $2,508).
