MediaTek officially unveiled the 3.63GHz Dimensity 9400 processor

MediaTek has officially unveiled the Dimensity 9400, its latest flagship mobile chipset designed to push the boundaries of smartphone performance. Built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm N3E process, the new SoC promises a significant leap in speed, power efficiency and artificial intelligence capabilities, positioning itself as a strong competitor in the high-end mobile market. The Dimensity 9400 features a sophisticated 1+3+4 processor architecture, including a powerful 3.63GHz Cortex-X925 core that is designed for peak performance. It is supported by three Cortex-X4 cores clocked up to 3.3GHz and optimized for balanced high-speed operations. For everyday performance, the SoC includes four 2.4GHz Cortex-A720 cores that provide a balanced balance of performance and power consumption. This advanced configuration delivers a 35 percent performance boost in single-core mode and a 28 percent improvement in multi-core tasks.

The Immortalis-G925 chip is responsible for the graphics, with a 41% increase in overall performance and a 40% — increase in ray tracing speed over its predecessor. The GPU runs at 1612 MHz, providing a smooth and realistic image, especially for fans of mobile gaming. Efficiency gains are also noticeable, with a 44% reduction in power consumption, making it ideal for long gaming sessions without draining the battery.

The artificial intelligence heart of the Dimensity 9400 is — the NPU 890, delivering advanced device intelligence while reducing power consumption by 35%, compared to its predecessor. This neural processing unit supports a suite of artificial intelligence features including corrective fill technology for image enhancement, 100x zoom with unrivaled detail and advanced power management for shooting 4K video at 60fps. For image processing, the SoC integrates the Imagiq 1090 provider to capture HDR video at all zoom levels, maintaining quality even when switching lenses and zoom levels.
