Top 5 most sought-after headphone brands in 2024

According to a new report from analyst firm Canalys, the second quarter of 2024 was a record quarter for the global audio devices market in terms of shipments. Experts analyzed the shipment data and highlighted the most popular brands.
A total of 106 million units were shipped from April through June. Wireless headphones were the main driver of growth in the audio market, with TWS models in the sub-$50 (R$4 530) price segment accounting for more than 50% of shipments in the second quarter. Apple (including the Beats brand) was the leader in the first half of the year, shipping 18 million units and taking 17.1% of the market.
Samsung (including its Harman subsidiary) came in second with 8.1 million units shipped and 7.6% of the market. Rounding out the top three is Indian brand Boat Audio with 6.7 million units and 6.3 percent of the market.

Fourth position goes to Xiaomi with 5.2 million units shipped and 4.9% of the market. This company was also the only one in the top five to show significant year-over-year growth in shipments. Rounding out the top five is Sony with 4 million units and a final market share of 3.7%.
