The updated specs page indicates that the new iPad in both sizes gets a 9-core graphics chip. However, the release and tech support page still lists the 10-core solution that was announced during the presentation. Apple itself hasn’t announced any changes, so the reason for the specs change is unknown.

Interestingly, this is the first Apple M2 processor on the market with nine cores “on-board”. According to the 9To5Mac portal, the unusual GPU configuration may be due to chip defects: one core was presumably disabled due to flaws discovered that prevented the platform from working fully.
