Honor 200 series is officially unveiled

Honor has unveiled the Honor 200 series of smartphones in its home market, which includes a model with the same name and a version with the prefix «Pro». The smartphones share identical design and key features: a 6.7-inch OLED display (FHD+, 120Hz), 50 MP main and portrait cameras, and a 5,200 mAh battery with 100W wired charging.

The Honor 200 Pro features a higher-performance Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and 66W wireless charging, while the base smartphone gets a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and doesn’t get fast charging support. The Honor 200 Pro also features a dedicated Honor C1+ chip for improved wireless and cellular connectivity.

The main camera on the back of the 200 Pro is the H9000, a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch Omnivision OV50H-based sensor. It’s essentially the same sensor used in the flagship Honor Magic6 Pro with 1.2µm pixels. The base Honor 200 gets a Sony IMX906 as its primary sensor with f/1.95 aperture and OIS.

The Honor 200 and 200 Pro both feature the IMX856 telephoto lens with 50 MP resolution, 2.5x optical zoom, f/2.4 aperture and optical image stabilization. Honor has partnered with legendary French photography studio Harcourt to develop the new Harcourt portrait mode, which mimics professional studio lighting with artificial intelligence.

The third module on the back is a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with autofocus and a dedicated 2.5cm macro mode. Both phones also feature 50 MP front cameras.

The Honor 200 starts at $372 for the 12/256GB version and goes up to $442 for the 16/512GB version. The Honor 200 Pro in the 12/256GB version is priced at $483, while the model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will sell for $621.
