Vivo X100 Ultra with 200 MP periscopic camera unveiled

Vivo has launched its new top-of-the-line flagship smartphone, the X100 Ultra, which offers one of the most powerful camera systems to date. It features a 1-inch main camera with a Sony LYT-900 sensor and an even more impressive 200 MP periscopic camera using a 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL HP9 sensor co-developed with Samsung.

The 1/1.4-inch sensor on the periscope camera is the largest telephoto lens on a phone so far. It has an aperture of f/2.67 and an equivalent focal length of 85mm. It’s also got Zeiss T* coating and Zeiss APO certification, which should result in improved clarity and reduced fringing on contrasting edges.

The periscope lens has 3.7x optical zoom, 20% improved light sensitivity, and the telephoto macro mode offers 20x magnification. You also get industry-leading CIPA 4.5 telephoto lens stabilization.
Vivo X100 Ultra — is the first device to be released using Vivo’s proprietary BlueImage algorithm, which took eight years to develop. It fixes many common problems in photography, including light behind objects and preserving detail in low light. The smartphone also has a vivo V3+ imaging chip that records and processes 4K portrait video.
The 50 MP main camera features a 1/0.98-inch LYT-900 sensor, f/1.75 aperture and 23mm focal length. Like previous Vivo X series phones, the X100 Ultra’s main camera features a stabilizer that can provide 1.5-degree hardware stabilization and OIS.

The primary sensor also supports up to 4K video recording at 120fps, a dedicated 4K portrait mode, and Dolby Vision support. The third rear camera is an ultra-wide camera with a 14mm focal length and a 1/2-inch LYT-600 sensor with 50MP resolution.

Turning to the rest of the specs, the X100 Ultra features a curved 6.78-inch E7 LTPO AMOLED with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels and a refresh rate of 1-120Hz. The panel has a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits and features a 50 MP front-facing camera.
The X100 Ultra has a dual-camera setup.

A Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is at the core, accompanied by 16GB of RAM (LPDDR5X) and up to 1TB of storage (UFS 4). The smartphone is powered by a 5,500mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging and 30W wireless charging.

Vivo X100 Ultra is available in titanium, white, and gray colors. Prices start at $898 for the 12/256GB bundle and go up to $1,105 for the version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage.
