Apple will release a GitHub Copilot analog for software developers

Apple is developing an artificial intelligence-based tool to speed up code writing. It’s worth specifying that the tool is meant to be a competitor to OpenAI’s GitHub Copilot. The company is working on an update to Xcode to include an app development toolkit.

The neural network that underpins the tool is designed to speed up the writing of program code. New features will predict programmers’ needs and suggest automatically completed blocks of code. Artificial intelligence will also be used for initial testing and debugging of software. The company’s users will have access to the new system by the end of this year.

It’s worth noting that Apple is eager to catch up with its competitors in the field of artificial intelligence, and promises to reveal more details about its plans as early as June at its annual developer conference. The company is sticking to a gradual rollout of technologies, some of which, by the way, won’t be available for several years.
