Nokia and Nvidia to develop AI solutions for mobile communications

Nokia and Nvidia have announced that they are working together to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions for mobile networks “Artificial intelligence has the potential to change the landscape of telecom infrastructure and services in the mobile operator sector. This collaboration is aimed at increasing value for users by introducing innovative AI telecom services,” the statement reads. Recall, a little earlier Nokia announced the signing of new patent agreements, which relate to the licensing of 5G mobile communication technologies, with Chinese manufacturers Honor, Vivo, Huawei, Oppo, the American corporation Apple, as well as Korean Samsung. It’s worth noting that Nokia has more than 6,000 patents in its portfolio that are fundamental to the 5G standard.

Most recently, late last month, Human Mobile Devices (HMD Global) revealed that it is dropping the Nokia brand for most of its devices, note, the new lineup of HMD-branded products will include smartphones, tablets, and wireless headphones. Speaking of which, the average level of artificial intelligence use in priority industries in Russia is 31.5%: Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the volume of the Russian AI market by the end of 2022 exceeded 650 billion rubles, which is 18% more than in 2021. More than 1,000 Russian companies are developing in this area, and more than 90 research centers are studying AI and the development of new solutions.
