Google Assistant support will be suspended in Samsung TVs

Google Assistant support will be suspended in Samsung TVs

Samsung will stop equipping its branded TVs with the Google Assistant personal assistant starting March 1, 2024. The restriction applies not only to new models, but also to those already released from 2020: TVs without Assistant support include the 2022 and 2021 Smart TV lines, QLED 8K and 4K devices, Crystal UHD and Lifestyle 2020. There’s no official word on the reasons for this action, but it’s indicated that it’s due to a change in Google’s policy.

Assist is not officially announced.

Samsung said the change is due to a Google policy change without further details. Google has changed the Assistant service, removing several unused features, but the connection between the developments is unclear. For current Samsung TV owners, Amazon’s Alexa and Samsung’s Bixby remain the voice assistants. Google Assistant, as before, is supported by the latest smart TVs from LG, Sony, TCL, Hisense and other manufacturers.

And Google Assistant is still supported by the latest smart TVs from LG, Sony, TCL, Hisense and others.
