The iPhone 16 will get an Action Button

Rumors have started circulating online that Apple will add an “Action” button to all four devices in the upcoming iPhone 16 series. The button was exclusive to this year’s iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models, but it looks like Apple will add it to the base iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. That said, the button will not be mechanical. It will work similarly to TouchID on older iPhones and the Force Touch trackpad on the MacBook.

The action button on the iPhone 16 series will also be joined by a capacitive capture button. It will be located on the right side, below the power button. Apple is testing different shapes and sizes for the button.
In addition, the next-generation iPhone SE, which is rumored to be released in 2025, will also feature an Action button.
