The best smart watches of 2023

Smartwatches are slowly becoming one of the must-have personal devices for any modern person. The wearable device — is an easy way to enter a person’s life, become part of their habits and eventually get under their skin. Many people are accustomed to wearing a watch (or strap) during the day, and with the ever-improving sleep and health tracking features on watches these days, we continue to wear them at night as well.

All manufacturers are making smartwatches, and all of them are pretty good these days. But some are better than others — here’s our list of the best that came out this year.
Some of them are better than others — here’s our list of the best that came out this year.
Apple Watch Series 9
It’s no surprise that the ubiquitous Apple Watch — is first on this list. The latest version of the Series 9 adds a faster S9 SiC processor, which allows for double-tap gestures, and Siri built into the device. The display is brighter —2,000 nits.
And the display is brighter.

Apple Watch Series 9 — it’s simply the best watch for most iPhone users.
Apple Watch Ultra 2

But if you want the absolute best watch for iPhone users, you should get the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The latest model gets a customizable Action button, a more tactile rotating crown for glove-friendly use, the same fast S9 SiC with dual-touch gesture, Siri on the device, and accurate device directional tracking with the iPhone 15. It’s not much different from the first Ultra, though.
Samsung Galaxy Watch6

Samsung has consistently produced some of the best Android smartwatches, and the Galaxy Watch6 — is its latest and greatest model. The latest model gets a 0.1-inch larger display (and a 0.1-inch smaller bezel) in the same chassis. The rest is practically ripped off from the Watch5 — sapphire crystal glass protecting the display, a 5nm SoC (though it’s a 930 vs. 920), Google Wear OS 4 with the Watch 5’s One UI.
At the same time, it’s the same as the Watch 5.
Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic

Samsung’s Galax Watch6 Classic triumphantly brought back the rotating bezel after a year’s absence, stretched the display further into the dial and called it «day». It’s Samsung’s best watch in 2023, but we can’t help but regret that Samsung didn’t release the Watch6 Pro — rotating bezel aside, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro — is a better watch than the Watch6 Classic.
Sung.
Huawei Watch GT 4

All the watches we discussed above have one thing in common — they only last a few days on a single charge, and in Apple’s case — just one. This is where the Huawei Watch GT 4 comes into play. Huawei claims two weeks of battery life — in our review we got almost a week, which is not bad at all. The Huawei Watch GT 4 is well equipped, looks great and costs only 269 euros. Compared to Samsung’s Google Wear OS watch, you lose some of the smart features, but for tracking sleep and health, as well as for workouts, the Huawei Watch is great.
Huawei Watch GT 4 is a good fit.
Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro

Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro — is a superb smartwatch. It’s one of the few watches with dual-band GPS, and in our review we saw that it’s great for tracking. We got two full days of use out of the watch on Google Wear OS 4, and that’s no reason to be dissatisfied. The best thing about the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro — is the price: for 270 euros you get a great watch. However, they are hard to find in stores at the moment.
At the moment.
Google Pixel Watch 2

The Google Pixel Watch 2 — is a unique offering thanks to its pebble-like design and smaller-than-usual size. They’re nice to look at and easy to use. Fitbit fans will love the full integration with Fitbit. The Pixel Watch 2 has a fast Qualcomm SW5100 processor and lasts longer than its predecessors, and in Europe and the US it came bundled with the Pixel 8 Pro, which probably allowed many people to put it in their pocket.

Garmin Venu 3S
Garmin’s watches are a standout on any list of the best smartwatches, and the Venu 3S is their latest competitor to the regular smartwatch. They feature an AMOLED display, Garmin’s powerful set of features and tracking capabilities, and can run for more than a week. But they don’t come cheap — €440.
The Venu 3S is the latest in a long line of smartwatches.
Amazfit GTR 4

Amazfit GTR 4 can be safely recommended at a price of just €215. They have a 1.43-inch curved AMOLED screen, a stainless steel case and up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge — solid!”
Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 is expensive (€360), but its three-day battery life is impressive for a watch on Wear OS 4. They feature the fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor and one of the best sets of watch faces available. Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5
