ZTE has launched a new Xiaoxing Kankan SC41 smart surveillance camera designed for residential and commercial use. Sales will start on October 9 at a price of 165.5 yuan (about $23).

The camera features a 4-megapixel 1/2.7-inch sensor and supports 2.5K (2560×1440 pixels) resolution, which ZTE claims provides 33% more detail compared to traditional 3MP models. The f/2.0 lens aperture allows for brighter and sharper images even in low-light conditions, and the full color imaging technology works in ultra-low-light conditions.

The camera uses eight 940nm infrared LEDs with a range of up to 10 meters for night photography. These LEDs are invisible to the human eye and do not produce the red glow common to conventional IR cameras. There is a physical lens shade that can be closed manually or on a schedule, and a privacy mode that disables monitoring during preset hours.

Xiaoxing Kankan SC41 supports multiple ways to store data: on a TF card up to 256GB, in the encrypted cloud, or on NAS devices including ZTE routers like the BE7200 Pro+. All data is protected with bank-grade encryption.

Wireless modules include dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 and 5 GHz) for fast video transfer and Bluetooth 5.4 for simplified pairing. A built-in chip with 0.5 TOPS and 128MB of RAM is responsible for real-time AI functions &#8212 motion recognition, human shape recognition and audio notifications.

The camera also features a speaker with rare-earth magnets for improved speech clarity of up to 120% and a 360-degree sound field for two-way communication. The SC41 can be mounted on a table, wall or ceiling, and the angle of rotation can be adjusted up to 180° via the ZTE Smart Life app.
