Steam has expanded features in a new beta version of the client

Valve has unveiled a set of new features designed to make the gaming platform more user-friendly for all users. Among the key innovations:

  • Flexible scale adjustment of the interface using an intuitive scale
  • Contrast Enhanced Mode for better visibility of controls
  • Limit Animations — ability to disable visual effects and transitions

These options are available in SteamOS and full-screen Big Picture mode, optimized for comfort.

Additional improvements for SteamOS:

  • An on-screen narrator with volume, tone, and speech speed adjustments
  • Advanced color filters, including:
  • Gray Shades
  • Brightness correction
  • Color palette adjustment

The changes apply to both the client interface and gameplay. SteamOS is currently supported only on Steam Deck and Lenovo Legion Go, but the company plans to expand the list of compatible devices.
