On its blog, Spotify said the new update “creates a level playing field” for all marketers. Developers will be able to directly specify a price and lead users to purchase – without middlemen or extra steps.

Despite the court order, Apple has yet to make official changes to its policies. What’s more, the company is being sued collectively for violating antitrust laws. Apple has not yet commented on the situation.
