Samsung has confirmed the free status of key Galaxy AI features

After months of uncertainty, Samsung has officially clarified its strategy for artificial intelligence on Galaxy devices. According to an update on the Galaxy AI page, key features presented as basic will remain free for users. However, in the future, advanced or specialized AI features may move into the paid category.

The company said in a statement, “The basic Galaxy AI features provided by Samsung are free. Future updates may include advanced features or new paid services.” It’s a direct reaffirmation of earlier promises of free access until 2025, but now with more clearly defined terms.

— Communication: Live Translate, Interpreter, Chat Assist, Transcript Assist.

— Productivity: Note Assist, Writing Assist, Browsing Assist, Now Brief, Photo Assist.

These features will remain available at no additional cost, which should reassure users who have integrated them into their daily use.

While Samsung intends to develop more advanced features that could become part of paid services. Future devices such as the Galaxy S26 are expected to get proactive AI built directly into the system. Such innovations could form the basis for premium subscriptions.

Samsung is also looking to develop more advanced features that could become part of paid services.

It’s noted separately that features provided by third-party developers (such as Google Gemini) will have separate terms of use, which may include their own monetization model.
