Philips has introduced the Evnia 27M2N5500XD gaming monitor with up to 1000Hz gaming frequency
Philips has launched the Evnia 27M2N5500XD gaming monitor — a 27-inch model aimed at cybersports. At 1440p resolution, it runs at 500Hz and reaches 1,000Hz when down to 720p —. That makes it faster than the recently announced 720Hz OLED panels from ASUS and ViewSonic.
And it’s faster than the recently announced 720Hz OLED panels from ASUS and ViewSonic.
The monitor appeared on the Chinese market alongside the AOC Agon AGP277QK. Both models use the same dual-mode panel — that’s not surprising, given that AOC and Philips are owned by the same holding company. The main focus — on motion clarity and minimal input lag, rather than maximum image detail. Most users will stop at 500Hz at 2560 × 1440 resolution, but the 1000Hz mode is for those who care about maximum speed.
The panel is IPS-based with high contrast, not OLED. 1ms response (GtG) and a static contrast ratio of 2000:1 is claimed. This configuration provides consistent brightness and higher contrast than older IPS screens while maintaining fast pixel switching.
Philips calibrates each unit at the factory to Delta E less than 2 to ensure accurate color reproduction «out of the box». The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, which guarantees basic HDR support, but there’s no localized dimming or high peak brightness here.
Pricing and release date have not yet been revealed. Still, the 27-inch monitor, capable of 500Hz at 1440p and 1,000Hz at 720p, is — one of the fastest gaming displays available, and users focused on speed over resolution are sure to appreciate its capabilities.
