Nubia Z80 Ultra: design and launch date confirmed

The Nubia Z80 Ultra flagship smartphone, built on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, will officially debut in China on October 22. The company also revealed the design of the device, confirming its key features.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra looks a lot like last year’s Z70 Ultra, but the camera module has been given an updated look. The primary and ultra-wide-angle lenses are now located at the top of the unit, while the periscope zoom module — below. The side edges of the camera unit seamlessly flow into the body of the smartphone.

The Z80 Ultra will be available in three colors: Light White, Phantom Black and a Starry Sky collector’s edition inspired by the works of Vincent Van Gogh.
The smartphone will get an updated ultra-wide-angle lens with an 18mm focal length, a 1/1.55-inch sensor, seven lenses and an IR filter. The main camera features a 35mm Omnivision 990 1/1.3-inch sensor. The third module will provide 50x hybrid zoom with optical image stabilization, which is the same as the previous Z70 Ultra and Z70S Ultra models. The same 64-megapixel sensor with 2.7x optical zoom is likely to be used.
The company has already shared sample images showing a range of focal lengths from 18mm to 140mm.

The Nubia Z80 Ultra is expected to get a 144Hz OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and an under-screen front-facing camera, as well as a 7,100mAh battery with support for 90W fast wired charging.
