iQOO is preparing an affordable flagship iQOO 15R with a top processor and premium design

The iQOO company has started to drum up interest in its next smartphone — the iQOO 15R, which should soon join the iQOO 15 series. The first official teaser gives an early glimpse of the device and indicates that the brand is preparing a more affordable flagship, positioned below the nrecently introduced iQOO 15, but still retaining a premium character.

A teaser released by the CEO of iQOO India confirms that the iQOO 15R will soon hit the Indian market. The image shows the main camera module in the shape of a rounded square with soft corners. It houses a horizontal dual camera inside, while the LED flash is placed outside the unit, making the design neat and minimalistic.

The back panel of the smartphone has been given a distinctive checkered pattern with a muted matte finish, making the device look textured and elegant. The teaser shows a gray color variant, complete with a flat bezel and slightly rounded corners of the body. The front of the device has not been revealed yet, but the flat side edges indicate that the smartphone is likely to get a flat display. It’s also confirmed that the iQOO 15R will run OriginOS, which is based on Android 16.

According to leaks, the iQOO 15R could turn out to be a renamed version of the iQOO Z11 Turbo, which is on sale in China. If this information is confirmed, the smartphone will get a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and high refresh rate. The device is expected to be powered by a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor coupled with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 flagship processor is expected to be at the heart of the device.

The cameras will reportedly feature a 32-megapixel front-facing module and a dual main camera, where the main sensor will be a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5, complemented by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Other expected features include — an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, a linear vibration motor along the X-axis, a metal frame, a glass back panel, and IP68 and IP69 water and dust protection.

In the Indian market, the iQOO 15R is expected to be a direct competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered OnePlus 15R. Considering that the iQOO 15 costs Rs. 72,999 (about $800) and most of the competitor flagships are even more expensive, the iQOO 15R can be priced at around Rs. 50,000 (about $550). This makes it an attractive option for buyers who want flagship performance for more reasonable money.
