Threads audience has reached 175 million active users

It’s been almost a year since Threads, the microblogging platform that competes with X (Twitter), became available to the general public. Over the past 12 months, Threads has achieved significant milestones, such as attracting 100 million registered users in the first five days. Now, a year later, Threads has 175 million monthly active users, and in honor of the app’s first anniversary, new app icons have been added to the app.

First Anniversary of Threads
As Mark Zuckerberg announced Wednesday, Threads has surpassed 175 million monthly active users. The platform was launched amid much controversy surrounding X (formerly Twitter), as many users were unhappy with Ilon Musk’s decisions and were looking for alternatives.
Threads was released with a lot of missing features, but most of them have been added. The platform now has a web version, built-in translation, chronological search, quick account changes, tags, APIs, and even integration with Fediverse. In honor of their first year, Threads has released an update to the mobile app that adds new icons. Users will be able to choose from five new icons available along with the default icon. A new icon will be unlocked every day and will remain available until July 12, 2024. Interestingly, the icons have been designed by members of the Threads community.
