Vivo S50 Pro Mini unveiled: compact flagship with iPhone Air-style design

Vivo has revealed the key specifications of the S50 Pro Mini, a compact smartphone that will be released as the Vivo X300 FE in global countries. The device is scheduled to be announced next month in China, and the company has already confirmed the key features of the model.

Compact body, camera bar and ruggedized design

Vivo S50 Pro Mini gets a horizontal camera-bar on the back. Inside the unit, there are three cameras and an LED flash. The manufacturer has confirmed a large primary sensor, an ultra-wide-angle module and a periscopic 50MP Sony IMX882 camera.

Previously published images of the front show a flat screen with rounded corners. The form factor is compact: the smartphone features a 6.31-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz. The front camera is 50MP. There’s an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner beneath the display.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and flagship stuffing

The smartphone features the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset coupled with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. A 6,500mAh battery is responsible for battery life. Support for 90W wired and 40W wireless charging is confirmed.

Vivo S50 Pro Mini runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6 shell. Additional features include stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, an aerospace-grade metal frame, and an IP68/69 case rating.

The base version of the Vivo S50 is also getting ready to be announced

Vivo will unveil the standard Vivo S50 at the same time. It will get a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, up to 16GB of RAM and a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display at 120Hz. The back panel design of the base model will be different from the S50 Pro Mini, which has already been confirmed by the company’s teaser.
