Samsung has changed its plans for the Galaxy S26

Samsung, judging by the latest rumors, is in no hurry to announce the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S26 Pro model will reportedly never come out. Instead, the company will presumably revert back to its usual name – simply Galaxy S26.
It’s also been reported that Samsung is going to drop the Galaxy S26 Edge version. Its place will be taken by the Galaxy S26+. This decision is due to the fact that sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge left much to be desired.
At the end of the day, it’s expected that there will be three models in the lineup: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra – that is, the same names as last year. However, there’s no official confirmation at this point, and the names of the smartphones could still change.
The Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra are expected to be the same names as last year.
To talk about cameras, the Galaxy S26 (or S26 Pro, if the name remains) promises a completely revamped system. But according to some reports, it will actually use the same modules as the Galaxy S25. Users have long been waiting for a major change, which so far doesn’t seem to be coming.
The new smartphones are expected to go on sale in January 2026. That’s when Samsung traditionally unveils its Galaxy S series flagships.
When it comes to processors, the company is likely to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and its own Exynos 2600. The exact chip models and their regional locations are not yet known. Rumor has it that Europe will continue to use Exynos as before, but Samsung may change its strategy.
