Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max flashed in Geekbench with a new MediaTek chip
The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max smartphone has appeared in the Geekbench database with a yet-to-be-announced MediaTek processor. The device scored 2,656 in the single-core test and 8,377 in the multi-core test, and the Turbo 5 Max series is expected to launch in January. The Redmi sub-brand is gearing up to unveil the Turbo 5 Max lineup by the end of the month. Ahead of the announcement, a smartphone with model number 2602BRT18C was spotted in Geekbench. It is reportedly related to the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max model.
In Geekbench benchmarks, the device scored 2,656 points in single-core mode and 8,377 points in multi-core mode. However, the main point of interest was the hardware platform listed in the benchmark. According to Geekbench, the smartphone is equipped with an eight-core processor with a 1+3+4 configuration. One main core runs at 3.73 GHz, three performance cores – at 3.30 GHz, four more energy-efficient are limited to 2.40 GHz. The graphics are handled by the Immortalis-G925 MC12 gas pedal.

This configuration fully matches the specifications previously attributed to the upcoming Dimensity 9500s chip. The announcement of the new MediaTek processor is scheduled for January 15, after which the presentation of the Redmi smartphone could take place in the near future.
Information about the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max itself is still scarce, but renders of the device have already surfaced online. The smartphone gets a dual main camera with horizontally positioned modules inside an oval-shaped unit. This distinguishes it from the Turbo 4 and Turbo 4 Pro models, where the cameras were placed vertically. The front looks familiar to Redmi devices: thin frames around the screen, a neat hole for the front camera in the center and a standard arrangement of buttons on the body. Otherwise, the design retains continuity with the previous models of the series.
Like past Turbo smartphones, the new device won’t be exclusive to China. The device is expected to be available in international markets under the Poco brand and will be part of the upcoming Poco X8 lineup.
