Huawei is gearing up for a product launch event on February 26 in Madrid. Alongside the anticipated release of the new Watch GT Runner smartwatch, the company plans to unveil several other devices during the showcase.
Huawei has officially confirmed that the global debut of its flagship Mate 80 Pro smartphone will take place at the event. The phone was initially launched in China last November and features a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. At its core is Huawei’s proprietary Kirin 9030 chipset, and it packs a sizable 5,750mAh battery, supporting fast charging with up to 100W wired and 80W wireless power delivery.
The Mate 80 Pro’s camera system includes a 50MP main shooter with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, a 48MP periscope telephoto lens capable of 4x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultra-wide sensor.
In addition to the smartphone, Huawei will roll out the FreeBuds 5 Pro wireless earbuds to the global market. These were first announced in China alongside the Mate 80 series and boast dual drivers, the in-house Kirin A3 chip, active noise cancellation, and support for lossless audio playback.
The company is also set to introduce the MatePad Mini tablet and launch its new Band 11 fitness tracker lineup. February 26 promises to be a busy day for Huawei, with multiple announcements spanning different device categories.
