If Google sticks to its usual schedule, the official unveiling of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro should take place at an event in California in October.

The more premium of Google’s 2023 flagships will reportedly feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED display, Google’s Tensor G3 processor with Titan security chip, 12GB of RAM, 128/256GB of internal storage, and a 4,950mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging.

It will, of course, run Android 14 from release, get an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and a new feature — an infrared temperature sensor, which would have been on trend back in 2020, at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rear camera system consists of three sensors: a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, a 64 MP ultra-wide sensor and a 48 MP telephoto lens. An 11MP camera is said to be responsible for selfies. The main sensor is rumored to be Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2, the telephoto lens — ISOCELL GM5, and the ultra-wide — Sony’s IMX787. A new time-of-flight (ToF) sensor should help with focusing.
