Apple prepares to unveil iPhone 17: what to expect from the September presentation

September is traditionally Apple’s month of the month, and this year the company is likely to unveil the next-generation iPhone as early as September 17. According to German blog iPhone-Ticker posted on 9to5Mac, the iPhone 17 lineup will be unveiled on Tuesday, and pre-orders and launch sales could begin on September 12 and 19, respectively.

What’s expected in the iPhone 17 lineup?

  • iPhone 17 is the standard version with an updated design
  • iPhone 17 Air – ultra-slim model with a smaller battery
  • iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max – flagships with improved cameras and possibly a new orange color

iOS 26 and artificial intelligence

All new iPhones will get iOS 26 out-of-the-box with support for Liquid Retina (liquid glass) technology. Apple is also continuing to develop its AI ecosystem despite competing with ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini. Tim Cook, in a recent address to employees, emphasized:

“Apple should do it. Apple will make it happen. We can’t miss the AI revolution.”

Apple Watch Series 11 and AirPods Pro 3

  • Apple Watch Series 11 – either a minimal update with a focus on health and AI coaching, or a surprise redesign (there are almost no leaks).
  • AirPods Pro 3 – if Apple doesn’t delay them until 2025, the new headphones could debut as early as September.

When to expect confirmed data?”

Although Apple has yet to officially announce a presentation date, the company has historically stuck to September Tuesdays (with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic).

We’ll just have to wait until September to see what surprises Apple has in store this year.
