VK Video launched “Kids Mode” on mobile devices

The VK Video app on Android smartphones and tablets now has a new feature, Kids Mode, available in beta. It allows young users to safely watch thousands of educational and entertaining videos, while parents can be assured of quality and safe content.
Popular animated series and catalog expansion
In October, the most viewed cartoon series were “Masha and the Bear”, “Three Kota”, “Blue Tractor”, “Buba”, the educational series “Tsvetnyashki” and programs of the “Mult” TV channel. VK Video already offers a variety of content from leading movie studios: Soyuzmultfilm, Volga, Zero Plus Media, Melnitsa and Riki Group. In the near future, we plan to expand the library through new collaborations with movie studios, bloggers and creators of children’s content.

What is VK Video’s “Kids Mode”?
“Kids Mode” VK Video is an extensive library of safe content for children from 0 to 12 years old. In it you can watch free of charge without advertising licensed cartoons – from the classics of Russian animation to novelties of studios “Soyuzmultfilm”, “Volga”, “0+ Media”, “Melnitsa” and others. Also available are educational videos, family movies, content from popular bloggers and even interactive videos. Built-in secure search lets kids find the videos they want through a pre-populated database.
Launching on Android mobile devices allows access to content even on the go, making viewing convenient and accessible anytime.
Nikolai Dukksin, VP of Music and Video Services at VK: “The children’s content category has become one of the fastest growing on our platform: the number of users of children’s content has increased 3 times in just a few months, and the total number of views shows a fantastic growth of almost 10 times (+815%). Today, almost every child has their own smartphone, and in fact there is a generation that consumes content from birth. Our task is to create a safe zone for children, as well as to offer a variety of content: from kind and timeless Soyuzmultfilm cartoons to educational and training content.”
How do I activate “Child Mode”?
To activate the mode, you need to log in to your profile in the VK Video app, go to the “Kids” section and set a four-digit PIN code in the pop-up window. Once you enter the code, the app will switch to Kids Mode, and your adult profile information will be hidden. Children will not be able to return to the normal mode even after restarting the app. If you lose your PIN, you can restore it through the mobile app.
Kids Mode was previously available on Smart TV and Android TV devices, and the feature will soon be available on iOS devices.
