VK Video announced the full-scale launch of their mobile app

VK Video, one of the leading platforms for viewing video content, announces it is out of beta and officially launched. Users of the app can watch videos from a multi-million catalog, including exclusive shows, videos from bloggers, streams, movies, series and UGC videos. The app can be downloaded from RuStore, Google Play, App Store, Xiaomi GetApps, Huawei AppGallery, and on Smart TVs (LG, Samsung and TVs running Android TV).

In the beta testing period, the functionality and recommendation algorithms of the VK Video mobile app have been improved taking into account the wishes and feedback from viewers and platform authors. Thanks to the introduction of new technological solutions and optimization of the app’s internal architecture, users will get a convenient tool for viewing video content, and authors will get an effective direct channel for interacting with the audience.

A showcase of recommendations, themed playlists and enhanced catalog search will help viewers of all ages and interests find engaging content. A new “Trends” section brings you the most talked-about, relevant and viral video content. Users can see their viewing history, downloaded, liked and bookmarked videos in the app. The updated “Subscriptions” section will help with searching and navigating through the latest content.

Special attention has been paid to improving the functionality of the VK Video player. It’s now easier to control viewing with a quick double-tap rewind, the ability to speed up and slow down videos, and the ability to turn on auto-subtitles. Picture-in-Picture background viewing allows users to continue watching videos even when the app is minimized, and to listen to audio when the screen is off. Time codes make it easy to navigate and quickly find interesting moments in videos. Viewers can save their favorite videos to Favorites or create playlists for themed content.

VK ID, a single account for all VK projects, is used to log in and register in the VK Video app. Authorization ensures cross-platform viewing: recommendations and video views in the VKontakte social network are synchronized with the VK Video mobile app. You can also watch video content in a separate app without authorization or registration.
