YouTube has a new Russian analog – “Platform”

Russian company Rteam has unveiled its own analog of the YouTube video service called Platform. The developers have tried to maintain a familiar interface for users, while making the site more attractive to content creators.

The creators of “Platform” state that the interface of their service resembles YouTube, which should make it easier for users to transition. The service supports uploading videos up to 4K with subtitles and short videos. Platform will promote relevant videos for Russia and block malicious content, they said.

For content creators, there is an option to transfer videos from other platforms. It’s important to note that Platform won’t take a percentage of monetization, unlike YouTube.
According to Rteam CEO Andrei Talyzin, Platform is currently capable of handling up to 240,000 requests per second. There is no information about the launch date of the service yet.
