Spotify introduced the “Concerts Near You” playlist for finding concerts in your city

Spotify has launched a new personalized “Concerts Near You” playlist to help users find nearby concerts by their favorite artists. The new tool is available now and is updated every Wednesday.

Spotify has launched a new personalized playlist called Concerts Near You.

How “Concerts Near You”

works.

The playlist features 30 tracks from artists performing in your city and provides full event details, including links to purchase tickets. Spotify partners with leading ticketing platforms such as AXS, DICE, Eventbrite and Ticketmaster to make it easy to make a purchase.

Like Spotify’s other personalized playlists – such as “Daylist” and various “Mixes” – the new playlist is shaped based on a user’s music preferences, helping them discover concerts by artists they already listen to.

To get up-to-the-minute updates on upcoming shows, Spotify recommends enabling geolocation access via the “Live Events” section (available under the “Search” tab in the app). It also recommends activating push notifications and subscribing to your favorite artists to receive personalized event reminders.

Spectify also recommends activating push notifications and subscribing to your favorite artists to receive personalized event reminders.

Why is Spotify expanding concert features?

The launch of “Concerts Near You” indicates the company’s commitment to making concert search an integral part of the user experience on Spotify. Not only does it help music lovers find interesting events, but it also gives artists an additional opportunity to engage audiences.

The playlist announcement comes just after the publication of the annual Loud & Clear report, in which Spotify reveals artist payouts. According to the report, in 2024, an artist who received one listen per million on the platform earned more than $10,000 on average – a first in the service’s history.
