Mail.ru mail has a new domain xmail.ru
By ForGeeks Mail.ru has launched a new domain for mailboxes — xmail.ru. Registration will be available to users of third-party services starting August 7. When switching to the new domain, the former name of the foreign mail service’s box will be retained with a new e-mail address. It will start with the former login and end with xmail.ru. After that, the user will be able to transfer emails and their attachments from the previous account. In general, this is a great way to move from GMail.com to xmail.ru, since it is now forbidden in Russia to register on websites using mail in foreign services.

To create a mail and migrate emails a user needs to fill out the registration form. After transferring the archive, you will still be able to write letters on behalf of a foreign mailbox. The Mail Collector functionality will help you not to lose correspondence, as well as customize receiving letters from another mailbox.

The mailbox in the xmail.ru domain is available only for transferring an account from a foreign service. To create another new mail, standard domain names will be offered: mail.ru, bk.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru or, to be launched in 2020, internet.ru. Their shares among users are distributed as follows: mail.ru — 79%, bk.ru — 10%, inbox.ru — 4.5%, list.ru — 4.5%, internet.ru — 2%.
