Google expands availability of AI Plus budget plan

Google has announced the launch of its affordable AI Plus plan in 40 countries at once. It was previously only tested in Indonesia, where it cost about $4.50 a month and received positive reviews.

AI Plus gives users expanded Gemini limits, including video generation via Veo 3 fast, Whisk and Flow tools with 200 credits per month, Deep Research on 2.5 Pro, integration to Gmail, Docs and Sheets, and more audio reviews and notebooks in NotebookLM.

The plan includes an additional 200GB of Google cloud storage that can be shared with family members. However, only the primary account holder has access to the AI features. For new subscribers, there’s a 50% discount for the first six months.

Which countries Google AI Plus is available

The new tariff can be activated in Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, El Salvador, Ghana, Ghana, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mali, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Mozambique, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua — New Guinea, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe.

Subscription prices vary by country, but remain noticeably lower than the $20/month AI Pro or $250 AI Ultra.

Competing with ChatGPT Go

The launch of AI Plus — is Google’s move to compete with OpenAI for users in developing countries. OpenAI previously offered the ChatGPT Go tariff, which also makes advanced AI limits available, including GPT-5 and file uploads.

While AI Plus doesn’t give the most advanced features, it allows budget users to try out the capabilities of Google’s ecosystem and its integration with key services.
