IFA 2024: Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor
By ForGeeks As expected, Qualcomm revealed the new 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor at IFA 2024. This chip is «weaker» than the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite and 10-core Snapdragon X Plus models. It has the same architecture but is noticeably weaker on graphics, making it ideal for entry-level laptops.
Snapdragon X Plus
The 8-core Snapdragon X Plus has 12MB less CPU cache (just 30MB) and less than half the GPU power for gaming and app performance. Its graphics performance is 50% lower (according to Qualcomm’s own tests) than the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite. Overall performance in CPU tasks is 20% slower.

It’s important to note that the 8-core Snapdragon X Plus will help lower laptop prices even more than its Qualcomm ARM counterparts. The first laptops with this chipset should arrive in the coming days. One of them will be the Asus Vivobook S 15, which will presumably sell for $899.
