South Korean studio InZOI Studio’s upcoming life simulator InZOI has become the most-wanted game on the Steam platform, overtaking Hollow Knight: Silksong. According to SteamDB and the platform itself, interest in the game skyrocketed on the eve of its Early Access release on March 28.

Rise in popularity and gameplay features

In the last week, the number of subscribers to the game’s Steam page has increased by over 50,000, bringing the total to 240,000. InZOI is positioned as a more realistic alternative to The Sims, offering enhanced customization options.

Although the game’s mechanics are largely reminiscent of the series from EA, the developers have emphasized user creativity. Players will be able to upload their own textures for surfaces and use II-tools to transform photos into in-game objects.

Ii-animations and in-game content sharing

The game also lets you upload videos of people performing movements and then use generative AI to turn them into character animations. User-generated content can be published to Canvas, an in-game platform for sharing created objects and animations.

Perspectives on the background of The Sims

Preliminary estimates from VGC suggest that InZOI is indeed capable of competing with The Sims, thanks to its detailed customization and original mechanics. In Early Access, the game still lacks depth and structure, but it already looks like a serious alternative to EA’s franchise.
