Electronic Arts has officially confirmed that the next installment of Battlefield will be released by March 2026. A full-fledged announcement is planned for summer 2025.
DICE expands testing, including on destruction and weapon balance
According to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, the new Battlefield will be a “key step” toward the next generation of blockbuster entertainment. Internal testing of the game began back in March, but leaks of gameplay have already hit the web.
The DICE team posted an update on X (formerly Twitter) announcing the expansion of testers. Players from Europe, North America, and Asia will join the testing in May after applying to participate.

- Weapon balance and damage types
- Battle and movement tempo
- Mechanics of destroying objects and damaging various surfaces
The studio also promised to come back later with news on classes and a “total combat system.”

Four EA studios create modern Battlefield universe
In the face of criticism of Battlefield 2042, EA has decided to make the development of the new game more open and understandable to the community. There are four internal studios involved:
- DICE – responsible for multiplayer
- Motive – creates maps and single-player missions
- Criterion – focuses on the story campaign
- Ripple Effect – developing a “new game experience” for the series
Skate is also on the way – release by April 2026
EA has also confirmed that Skate will be released before the end of the next fiscal year (by April 2026). The game should be in early access by the end of 2025.
